General overview
Hilase Ltd. a spin-off company of the University of Szeged, was founded in 2004. It belongs to the Videoton Group (the largest and most significant local private-owned EMS company in the Central-Eastern European region). It develops and manufactures laser based gas detection instruments for the natural gas and biogas industry as well as for environmental monitoring. It also offers its service for measuring gas permeability parameters of polymer membranes, sheets and tubes. The various application areas of our instruments include:
- water vapor (H2O) and/or hydrogen-sulfide (H2S) concentration monitoring in natural gas operable in potentially explosive areas (WaSul-Ex) e.g. in a Claus process plant,
- continuous monitoring of atmospheric humidity and total water concentration in aircraft measurements ( WaSul-Hygro ),
- continuous monitoring of the composition of biogas including monitoring of methane, carbon-dioxide, hydrogen-sulfide (H2S) and water vapor (H2O) (WaSul-Bio),
- continuous monitoring of water vapor (H2O) concentration in industrial gases (WaSul-Hygro ),
- measuring the concentration of volatile pollutants in liquid: monitoring water and BTEX concentration in glycol used for the dehydration of natural gas, or measuring BTEX concentration in drinking water wells (WaSul-Liquid),
- multi-wavelength measurement of aerosol optical absorption in the atmosphere for quantitative and qualitative aerosol analysis (WaSul-MuWaPas),
- ultra-sensitive concentration and flux monitoring of ammonia (WaSul-Flux),
- gas permeability measurements on plastic or rubber samples (WaSul-Perm).
All WaSul instruments have short response time, high sensitivity, excellent selectivity and capable of continuous and fully automatic operation. The expected trouble free operational lifetime of a WaSul instrument exceeds ten years!
